|
The Next Stage in Architectural development has been devised and set to be developed in Tokyo - Japan.
Sumitomo Forestry have revealed plans to build the world's largest wooden building, which will stand at a staggering 350-meters (1148.29 -foot), this will be the country's highest skyscraper to date.
The ambitious tower will be four times higher than the current tallest timber building - 18-storey Brock Commons in Vancouver, Canada.

At 350 metres, the skyscraper is set to be Japan's tallest building.
Designed by Sumitomo's Tsukuba Research Laboratory and collaborated with the Nikken Sekkei practice in Tokyo.
The hybrid structure is expected to be at least 90% timber, with a total estimation of 185,000 cubic metres of wooden panels are to be used in the construction.
The building has been designed to use a "braced tub structure" with columns and beams made from steel and timber, with supplemented by additional diagonal steel braces.

The multi-use skyscraper will contain a hotel, residential units, offices and shops with the exterior wrapped in large balconies covered in different plants and forestry.
The project is estimated to cost £4.2billion (629.3billion Yen) which is almost double a conventional high-rise building constructed with current technology. Sumitomo Forestry is working to reduce the cost and has an overall aim to "change cities into forests" - making our cities and urban spaces greener.
